Don’t Sweat Summer Makeup Posted by beauty

summer-makeup.jpg

Here are some melt proof makeup tips.

Change to a tinted moisturizer or a gradual face tanner. This will keep your skin looking even without having cakey foundation on.

Choose a moisturizer that will help combat shine such as Sothys Hydra Matt Fluid, DDF Daily Matte SPF 15.

Eye shadow in the summer is tricky. It creases very easily and can melt off. Stick with neutral shades so if this does happen it won’t be so obvious.

Summer should mean waterproof mascara and liner.

Use blotting sheets. Adding powder every hour will make you look awful and cakey. Try the new Decleor Arome Purete Matifying Powdered Blotting Papers papers

Keep a blemish stick with you. With the increased sweating we are more prone to breakouts, especially around the hairline. Try: BABOR Pure Clear & Cover StickIt covers blemishes while it heals.

Use a light powder bronzer on your cheeks and brows bones. Don’t apply too much bronzer; we want you to look sun kissed not like a tanorexic.

Always carry a travel-sized deodorant with you in your purse. You just never know!

Free Beauty Tips Posted by beauty

Hair Tip
Let hair air dry to about ½ before you use the blow dryer. It’s less damaging and less drying.

Makeup Tip
If you have dark eyebrows, use a clear brow gel to tame unruly hairs instead of adding extra color with a tinted gel.

Assorted Tip
With summer here sweat tends to make thick foundation look cakey. Use a lighter fluid or even better a tinted moisturizer. Try using a foundation brush to better control how the makeup goes on. A flat brush make foundation look smooth and soft.

The Perfect Pout Posted by beauty

It’s always best to start with a clean smooth surface, especially if you’re going with bold colors. The attention will be on your lips so make them beautiful!

Start with a lip scrub to exfoliate flakes and smooth any cracks. We absolutely love Philosophy Kiss Me Exfoliating Lip Scrub. It’s enriched with natural butters and oils, and leaves lips silky smooth and renewed. Use gentle circular movements for a minute or so and then wipe off the product gently with a damp face cloth.

Follow the scrub with a fantastic lip balm. We love Murad Energizing Pomegranate Lip Therapy SPF 15. It’s one of our fav lip balms of all time. Let this lip balm sit on while you do the rest of your makeup, or for 5-10 minutes. The drier your lips are the longer you should leave it on. (Use this lip balm everyday to keep lips in great shape!)

When you’re ready to apply your lipstick gently wipe off your lips leaving a very thin coat of the lip balm and apply lip liner that is the same color as your lips to define the lips and prevent feathering or bleeding. Apply one coat of lipstick and gently blot. Repeat application. To make lipstick last really long, pull apart a Kleenex so you have a 1 ply tissue, put it over your lips and brush on some translucent powder.

Our Favorite lipstick is DuWop Realipstick available is huge array of shades. Find them at Skin Store

The New Nude Posted by beauty

nude-1.jpg

There is a new way to wear nude makeup. It is updated and more chic than ever!

Nude makeup works on everyone and gives you a healthy look. You can look clean and polished, a natural beauty, but it can also look really sexy!

You want to add a bit of sexy t the eyes but using a chocolate brown shadow instead of black liner and blend it from the lash line up. Go over it with a medium toned brown and blend. A little champagne highlighter, 2 coats of mascara and the eyes are done. For a great night look, smudge some of that chocolate brown under the eyes.

Eye Colors to try: DuWop Eye Palettes - Brown Eyes and DuWop Eye Palettes - Amber Eyes,

Cheeks are really important when rocking a nude look. You want a toned down blush, look for beigy-rose colors and leave the apples of your cheeks alone. You want to go for the sculpted look so sweep a little bit of blush underneath. The blush should blend in with the skin, not stand out.

A great nude blush: DuWop Cheek Venom Sidewinder, Illuminare Ultimate All Day Blush Florentine Fair

Skip the lip liner and go for a soft pink or at night at a bit of punch by blending it with a gold or copper.

Keep eyebrows soft but neat.

Stick to warm tones and don’t go too dark, keep it natural.
